The psych I saw and have finished with, did a report on me and sent it to my workplace. I asked if I could read it or see a copy, and she won't show me. She told me basically what was in it, but won't show me. I rang work, they said they have to get her permission for me to read my own report. They are going to contact her. I think I will have to apply through Freedom of Information. I rang the union and they haven't returned my call.

Hi
I'm not sure how things work in Australia I'm afraid so don't know what your rights would be etc. To me it seems odd that she'd tell you what's in the report but won't let you read it, unless that's the policy in Australia or unless there's something in the report she hasn't told you about.
I *think* in the UK people can ask for access to their notes whether this be from a doctor, psych, counsellor etc. but the clinician needs to go through the notes before hand and take out anything they think could be detrimental to the patient. But i'm not sure as I've never done it myself.
Hope it gets sorted for you though x

In the end work contacted her twice, and she gave them permission, so I get to see the report through work and I am glad I did too. Then she rang me on the mobile and left a message, that she didn't understand why I needed to see the report, and what report was I talking about. That I was welcome to see her any time.
