I always found that if I had therapy at the end of the week I was far more unstable than if I had it at the beginning of the week. So therefore I have always prefered it at the beginning of the week. I think it's because I don't have to spend all week waiting for it and anxious about it, I just get it over and done with and then can get on with my week. I don't have a preferred time of day though, but I know some people do.

My therapy is on a Wednesday now which is not great, but also not awful. Obviously, just because I have a preference, that does not mean it is always possible to meet that.

I just wondered if you had any preferences for when it came to therapy. Like time? Day? Position in the week? Also, why is that your preference?

My therapy was always on a Friday evening and i really liked that.. for me it was something to help get me through the week. Id actually look forward to the session and if something happened during the week i'd think "ooh i'll talk to my therapist about that on Friday". It was kinda an incentive for me.

The only downside was that the weekend closely followed my appointment, so if i had a particularly difficult session it would be harder to get through the weekend - i'd actually be happier once i got back to work on the monday and was able to occupy my mind again and keep busy.

I guess everyone is different.. for me it isnt something i wanted to 'get it over and done with', more i enjoyed going to see her and having the time and space to talk.. even if it was bloody difficult at times!

As for time of day i've only ever had therapy after work.. i don't think i'd like it before work or in my lunch hour as i need some time after a session to collect my thoughts, especially if it's been a tough one. So yeah, evenings are best for me :)
