Highly Reccommend.

I know that a lot of trainee counsellors may well have already heard of this one but I do just love Irvin and I am happy to spread the word!

Presented as eighty five tips for begginer therapists but its great insight for clients too. You will wish for Irvin to be your man!! Or maybe thats just me... :shy:

The blurb calls him a master psychotherapist and he is certainly well respected in his field and lectures still.

I also reccomend his 'Momma and the meaning of life' - Tales of psychotherapy... Fascinating! I have all his other books on my groaning wishlist!

I've heard of this book - it looks really good :) I want to read it, but I'm wondering what my mom will think when she sees I've checked out a book about therapy under her library card :what:

I've heard of it but never (yet) read it - will see if the library has it.
Indie, don't understand - what would your mother think?

Well, as usual, I'm just afraid of her judgement. When I was 12, I was interested in becoming a women's doctor. So I got books about that kind of thing, but I was still afraid of her reaction. It's the same thing now. I think she'd say something like "you're over-analyzing yourself again, trying to figure out what's wrong with you". She said something like this last week, when we were in family therapy.

Edit: Today I checked it out from the library. Only on the introduction, but it's really good :)
