Has anyone ever tried this? I'm thinking of becoming one, as I'm artistic and caring  Or is it mainly used for children? :S

I've never had art therapy (although would love to try it out - despite genuinely not being able to draw!) as i think it would be a great way to express yourself and get in touch with our 'inner children'.

I know there are places that offer art therapy to adults - for example within the NHS. I work in a drug and alcohol unit at an NHS and we have an art therapist in the inpatient unit. There's also some art therapists within the psychotherapy department upstairs.. all work with adults. So it's definitely a possibility.

Did a google search and found this website (http://www.baat.org/shortcourses.html) which has some courses and more information on art therapy - hope it's helpful. May be good to do an introductory course and see whether it's for you :)

Good luck & let us know how it goes

Just seen this job (http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/cgi-bin/vacdetails.cgi?selection=912212919) advertised on the NHS website - could give some indication as to what qualifications, etc. they're looking for.. and shows that there is art therapy available to adults :)
