Hello all.
My name is mel and I am a counsellor in training. Am hoping to start my counselling degree next year!
I have always enjoyed the PD groups my courses had to offer and miss them greatly. So reason for me joining here is to hopefully meet some other trainees or qualified counsellor to share the journey with!

Hi Mel
I can understand you missing your PD sessions, they were the highlight of my training years too. Although, thinking about it, some of them were pretty tough, but thats the point I guess. Those groups can form such close bonds, its hard to find the same kind of support/relationships anywhere else.
I'm a counsellor living and working in North West of UK and I also taught counselling for about 9 years, so I'd be glad to chat any time. I left teaching a year or so ago and I miss the PD sessions as a tutor too!!!
Hope everything goes well - enjoy the journey.

Yes they were amazing times. Amazing! I was able to discover parts of my self which I didnt even know existed! Sometimes PD groups were scary or funny, sad or mind blowing, but they certainly were never boring!
Such a shame it had to end. Another reason I am so exited about starting my studies again next year.

Gosh I bet you have some interesting stories to tell about your time as a tutor!
I just cant imagine one group of students to be just like the next. I bet they were all special in their own little way?
The group dynamics and people... there is such richness in so much variety and diversity.
Sigh... good god... I am starting to miss my group and tutors...
Anyway, thank you all for your welcome and I am looking forward to chatting with you all.

Im glad that you found us and hope the forum gives you a little of what youre looking for. As you can probably see the forum is still quite new and growing, but hopefully itll turn in to a nice little community for trainees, trained, and clients etc
I look forward to seeing you around the forum, i can relate to the PD aspect of training being not boring - i laughed a lot and boy did i cry a lot too! Was bloody hard work!
