Hi all,
Just to let you know that I'm moving house tomorrow (well i'm still waiting for confirmation that we can exchange and complete tomorrow but here's hoping!!) so am going to be pretty busy this weekend and next week.
I'm buying a one-bedroom flat in Egham and the word "dump" doesn't quite describe what it's like right now!! It was cheap though (for Surrey) so could afford it, yay! Structurally it's sound but cosmetically it needs a lot of work... so i'll be busy painting this weekend before i have someone coming round on Thursday to fit a new floor.
Ive attached some photos to this post (hopefully?). One is of the oh-so-lovely brown toilet!! Another of the kitchen thats falling apart. And one of me and my mum at the window looking at the curtains in disgust (note the strange cutting in the middle of the carpet!?!?!) lol. One of the high-tech heating and one of the BDSM-type bedroom colours (black and dark red!?). Remember, these are the "Before" shots though.. i'll post some "After" shots in a few weeks!!
I should still be able to get online for breaks in between painting but it will be limited!
It's exciting :wootrock:

I can't wait to see the 'after' shots. Maybe also some 'during' shots too :D

It doesn't look bad. It's looks about the same as the houses around here in West Virgina. I hope you like it in the end though. Good luck working.
P.S. You spell colors wierd. ;)

On my igoogle i have horoscopes for the day set up, not sure i believe in them but have them there just for a read.. anyway, look at what it says for today lol so true!! I have tonnes to do and instead i'm sat here online!!
There's probably no way around the fact that you have plenty of work to do now and the sooner you begin, the sooner you'll be done. The problem is that you may find yourself in a major procrastination gambit as you avoid working, one distraction at a time. Creative Venus and Mars are in your 5th House of Spontaneity, evoking facets of your inner child. Once you've allowed yourself the luxury of innocence, it may be time to grow up and return to the responsibilities of your adulthood.

New clean funky kitchen vs old smelly falling apart orange kitchen :showoff::tellytubbies::goodone:
(i know i still need to do a bit of painting, it's from where old stuff was ripped out)
So now my main room is done - it's an open plan sitting room / kitchen and can i say i'm SO proud of it! The colours compliment each other.. looks so spacious.. and my bedroom is done too so now just the bathroom to go although won't get to do that for a few years as I don't have a penny to my name anymore :D

Ahhhh.. not really.. well.. maybe an itsy bitsy bit but wow Jenny. I am pleased for you too. That must be lovely to come home to. All clean and new. You deserve it after your hard work. What a fabulous job you have done with your place..
Please tell me why my husband took 6 years to start decorating my living room after we moved in?? And why...when I said I just like some new wallpaper please did he knock down an entire chimmney breast and a ceiling, and then stop..for 2 years.. still no wallpaper..still waiting..
*sigh*

Wow i'm actually surprising myself with this! Just looked through the first photos in my very first post in this topic and those photos are SO different to what it's like now! Even the bathroom, which needs a lot of work, is so much nicer now after a lot of cleaning and paint.
I think that's a common thing though Cherrypie.. i often start things but don't finish.. but the difference is that this flat honestly was SO smelly and unlivable (not sure how to spell that) in.. look back to photos on page 1 and then try to imagine the most disgusting smell on top of all that.. i genuinely couldn't have coped living in it for more than a week!
 So when you all coming for dinner made in my new funky kitchen.. ooh and in the morning we're soooo eating breakfast on my breakfast bar! (when i buy some stools that is) xx
