My name is Carl I am 44yrs pretty and new to all this forum thingumy so please be kind.
I am studying level 1 counselling and communication and I am finding it incredibly interesting and useful and hope to take my studies further, in fact I have a university interview this week but am not very optimistic about my chances as I have a relatively poor educational background, but I will pursue my ambition through other means if necessary.I am finding the group dynamic most interesting particularly how people relate to each other in largely unfamiliar circumstances.
I am in counselling myself at the moment (cognitive therapy) and making good and steady progress but I was having alcohol therapy as I was an over indulgent user for 25 yrs but now don't have any desire for it, this was the best thing I ever did along with quitting smoking 10yrs ago and now want to achieve things with my life and am determined to do so.

That's it!:thanks:

Hi there and a big :welcome: to the forum!

Really glad you found us and hope the forum can be of some help.. good luck with your interview and try not to put yourself down re the educational side of things. In my opinion counselling is more about relationships and life experience than accademics (i'm no counsellor though so could be wrong!) so go in there and knock em dead.. well, not literally!

Let us know how it goes and I look forward to seeing you around
