This is something I feel very strongly about. My mother owns a pub and night after night, year after year I've seen a lot of people leave the pub and get into their cars after having a fair few pints. Why do people do this knowing what can happen? I really have never been able to understand it. I don't drive but I know that if I did, I would never even dream of drink driving.

Personally i won't even have one glass of wine or any drop of alcohol if i was driving. That's just me though and i know in the past people have tried to somewhat pressurise me in to "just having one".
But to me, i don't know how i'd be able to live with myself if i did have that one glass and then knock a child over or something.... i'd always be wondering if i could have avoided the accident had i not had that one drink.
To me, it's not worth the risk..

I think all people who drive get all they deserve. The only thing i would change is the crime. If you knock some one over and kill them, it is death, through dangerous driving.
It should be murder. Why?
You intend to go out and have a few drinks, you intend to take the car, you intend to drive the car home. So in my way of thought, You intend to Kill some one, so Murder. It is just like pointing a loaded gun and pulling the trigger. Except that the gun is a ton of metal.:thatsit:

I have a cousin that's gotten a couple DUIs in the past. My parents have always told me that if I'm drunk and need a ride home, to call them if nobody else is around. Even if it's 3 am, they said. I can't really see myself getting drunk in college, or any time, for that matter. But I'm glad they told me this, just in case :)
