I write poetry to escape and control my emotions. Here are some of my favorite poems, what do you think?

Deception

A day is not what defined in a book
A night is not something told aloud
Life is not measured by a single look
Love is not something to make you proud

Light is nothing but a lie
Dark is the only thing that is true
All lies do is make you cry
All truths do is make you blue

The outside is just a mask to cover the pain
The inside is a hole full of sorrow
With all of the hurt, it is hard to stay sane
So now, in my hole I will burrow

The 23rd

A heart heavy, full of sorrow and pain
A girl lost in the valley of the shadow of death
Over her head, there is always a cloud of rain
She is in a place where she cannot rest

The table is set before her if she can ever get there
The staff is sent to protect her, but she is still too far away
Her pain makes her blind to the care
She is past her 11th hour and in now in her 11th day

She reaches out, but cannot reach far enough
To the hand she needs to reach, the distance is miles
To reach it she needs to be tough
If she can just reach it, she will have endless smiles

She sees her savior before her, but the demons block her view
The demons hold her down and push her back away from him
There is only one of him, but the demons there are not only a few
They are blocking her sight, her eyes are becoming dim

Her strength is fading, she is getting weak
It is getting harder to see the Lord of All
She is still trying to get to the one she must seek
She has to get to him soon, or she will fall

Now to reach him she must crawl
While the demons hold her feet and pull her back
To get to the Lord she must climb this wall
She must keep going; she cannot fall through that crack

She can barely see anything
Each movement is getting harder
She can no longer hear the faintest ring
The distance to him seems event farther

She has fallen, she can move no more
She cries to him, while sinking in the sand
She is in so much pain; she lets out her final roar
She reaches out, and finally is able to reach his hand

Both of these poems are talking about my emotional state. Depression and Bipolar are my daily "demons" but I am TRYING to get past the depression and avoiding a third stay in the hospital since the beginning of april.
