Does anybody else here play Buddhist-Cribbage? It is the old game of Cribbage but adapted to teach and apply the principles of Buddhism.

I forgot to mention that I tried introducing the game at the local cribbage club, but it did Not appeal to anybody at all. As I see it, the reason for the lack of appeal is because those players are not Buddhists and so don't have the particular mind-set. In other words, I'll have to find somebody who's both a cribbage-enthusiast as well as a Buddhist, yes??

Hi Wendell,

I'm afraid i don't even know what it is! :shy:

But i think i have an open mind and in September am actually going on a Buddhist retreat for a week to meditate and learn more about Buddhism - I'd be interested in learning more about Buddhist-Cribbage :)

Hello Jenny. Glad you'll be joining that Buddhist retreat. In my case, the Zen meditation helps me to cope with my emotions. What I learned was Mu-shin(Japanese for No Mind).

The Mu-shin I learned from Buddhism was surprisingly and ironically found in Kendo (Japanese fencing). The main difference between European fencing and Japanese is that in European, the Sword is just a weapon for fighting, and learning the techniques for fighting....whereas in Japanese Kendo, the Sword is an instrument for developing Spirituality. As one trains and develops spiritually, there comes a point at which the Sword moves without any conscious thought, a point at which the Sword is Not an extension of the body but instead the mind and body becomes an extension of the Sword. I know that sounds paradoxical because the Sword is an Inanimate object but the mind gets guided by the Sword. This is Mu-shin.

Buddhism has different variations. All I'm saying is that mine is Mu-shin. Yours might be somewhat different.
