Ok...well its not strictly news but kind of an announcement.. or a request for help!

I am searching for a hamster..not a real one. If you don't have kids you may not know of him but if anyone sees a Go Go Hamster on their travels I will be grateful for any info..

Youngest dd's Christmas Present is unfortunately this year a top ten most wanted so also top ten most unlikely to get as people clear the shop shelves then sell them on ebay for 4 times the price..

I am looking for preferably the yellow one.. Pipsqueak.. Between work, college and housework it feels an impossible task and its not even December and they are sold out. I have already spent way too much time stock checking and checking again. I don't want him so bad as to bid ridiculous amounts on ebay but I thought in my desperation I could enlist the help of my fellow Sunrisers to look out for him!

There is a Martin Lewis forum dedicated to hamster hunters but still no luck as I think you need to be checking it every few minutes as they sell in minutes now. There is even a hamster stock checker so wanted are these furry chaps but still no luck.. I fear it may take over my life for the next three weeks!!

He should be around £9.99 so.. if you see one passing.. pm me!

Ta very much

Oh cherry I wish I could find you one! I looked at them online...they're just too cute :D I haven't seen them in the US, though. I hope you find one somewhere! Have you tried Amazon? http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.gogopets-pipsqueak.com/pipsqueak.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gogopets-pipsqueak.com/gogopet_description.html&usg=__ygET7otTCXzABtw11UwoJe-OM6A=&h=500&w=500&sz=69&hl=en&start=5&um=1&tbnid=q7pd0ljT0uB9WM:&tbnh=130&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgo%2Bgo%2Bhamster%2Bpipsqueak%26hl%3D en%26safe%3Dactive%26rlz%3D1R2GPEA_en%26sa%3DN%26u m%3D1

Awww thanks for the piccy Indie.. thats great and might help people to spot him!! If you see him whizz by please catch him!!

The thing is.. the bloomin hamster is the half..no the tenth of it.. You could go quite insane as he has a car, a wheel, a house, a ball, a skateboard (of course) and a slide etc etc etc and it all fits together like a giant scalectrix for hamsters! Probably costing as much.. I can't be getting all the extras but I thought a hammy and maybe a bed and blanky might do! They are cute aren't they.. apparently next year they will have outfits!! Eeek..

Santa had better get building some more is all I can say!! Dd tells me he is magic and can get anything..

Oh dear..

I wish I could find one and ship it to you, but costs are insane to ship stuff overseas! Good luck, I really hope you do find one

Well,

if by chance you do find one Indie let me know anyway as I could always email them.. Sometimes the shops will send them and its not always that much to post.. I don't think he is too big..although I haven't actually seen one.

I have seen them on ebay.com as well as uk though so I think they are over your way but they seemed just as limited on stock.

Thanks for thinking of me!

:yikes: they're like £30 on amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Go-Hamster-Pack-Pipsqueak-Supplied/dp/B002F7HQ4E/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=toys&qid=1258764208&sr=8-7) ... it's gonna be an expensive Christmas me thinks! And i love the comments on that page, e.g. "Exellent fun for my two children but very heavy on the batteries usage. Still not sure if hamsters should moo though. ".. lol they moo!? ha ha. Good luck! x

Oh my goodness...the one on Amazon has gone up to £50!!

Its 9.97 in Tesco!! Now of course Tesco don't actually have any but £50!!

Hamster insanity!!

I didn't know that they moooed.. I think they make rude noises though!! Why does every kids toy have to do that..

lol! I'm sorry you haven't managed to get hold of one yet, but at least there's still a month left, let's hope the shops will re stock their hamsters :)

And, what a way to confuse children! Hamsters mooing :giggle::

In the US you can get them for $8.00 at a place called Walmart. They are out of stock online unfortunately, but it looks like they have them in the stores...maybe. I know, that doesn't help you any...sorry.

Thanks for your support Daisy!

:awww: I was in one of those big Tescos the other day and had a look for you there, but nothing. Maybe you need to try some diversion tactics.. convince her that she doesn't want a hamster? They bite! Hmmm. Good luck! x

Thanks for looking Jenny, that was kind. :cheekkiss:

Apparently sometimes people get lucky and just happen to be there when a few go on the shelves so you never know! I can't be camping in the Tesco Toy Aisle just in case though..life keeps getting in the way of my hamster hunting!

I just read some newspaper report that said shops ordered 5 billion pounds less of toys this year compared to the previous year of 11 billion as they were nervous about the recession.. so apparently there will be a lot less of everything!! So with this in mind I suggest you go and panic buy toys or you may be doomed just like me :) Theres a Happy Christmas story!! LOL

Oranges and nuts all round then... ahh the good ol' days (or so people tell me....surely not!!)

I shall try diversion! And..erm satsumas?? :wish: Cherrypie

Have you seen the news today? On BBC Breakfast they've just said that there are some health concerns with the hamsters.. they are apparently 'safe' but have some high level of something in them! So it may be a blessing in disguise if you haven't managed to get one yet :)

Here's the link to the BBC article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8398586.stm

Thanks Jenny but I still want one.. toxic fur and all... ha.. no I wouldn't really want it if it was toxic of course but it seems the one with alleged problems is mr squiggles and we would like pipsqueak. Not that it really matters as I think we are unlikley to get it anyway.. :dunno:

The alternative was a pony.. blimey what a tough year for Santa this is turning out to be.. he is going to be very dissapointing..

I feel the need for a wine box coming on..

Yes yes yes yes yes yes...

Finally got a hamster at the 11th hour.. that lovely yellow one too..

I should be very excited but only slight problem being I have worked so hard to turn my daughter around from wanting a hamster to impressing on her that they are probably not as fun as they seem because I really thought we couldn't get one she probably now will not be too impressed! Ha!! The irony..

A friend of a friend went to somewhere in Europe and brought it back for me so I am lucky of course..

Thanks for all looking out for me..
