Mine is Alice Sebold, the author of The Lovely Bones and Lucky. It's her way of writing that makes it sound so...I don't know...luminous, almost

Got a few really.

For therapy type stuff Michael Mahoney or Irving Yalom I guess.

For philosophical stuff, Nietzsche.

For 'serious' stuff, Solzhenitsyn or Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

For lighter stuff, John Grisham, John Le Carre.

Default The Elegance of the Hedgehog

Last year I was lucky enough to visit North Carolina, and stayed in the most amazing house situated in the most stunning and spiritual wildlife environment - completely different from my usual UK habitat - in the midst of all this someone lent me the Elegance of The Hedgehog as a relaxing holiday read....

The combination of these surreal experiences was unforgettable

A highly recommended read and leaves me posing the question; who are we to ourselves and others? The book put me in mind of Johari window.
